Ink is the one currency for AI work. One Ink is roughly one generation, and every AI-assisted action spends a published, flat amount — no token math, no per-model surprises. Your plan grants Ink each cycle into a single balance shared by every brand the account runs.

Top-ups come in packs of 500 Ink for $8, added to the same balance the monthly grant funds.
Adapting one story across three platforms costs three Ink: the price is per unit of work, so a bigger fan-out costs proportionally more and nothing hides. This table is the only price source — every charge is priced from it, so nothing bills you an amount you cannot look up.
The grant
The monthly grant lands at the start of each billing cycle and does not roll over. Annual plans receive the whole year’s Ink up front instead of monthly instalments.

Running out
An action that cannot be paid for is refused before it runs, with a message saying what to do — top up or upgrade. Nothing is half-done and nothing is silently downgraded to a cheaper model. Scheduling and publishing do not spend Ink, so an empty balance never blocks a ship that is already written.
Topping up
Top-ups are packs added to the same balance the grant funds; buy them in the dashboard’s
wallet, or start a checkout from an agent with the billing_topup tool
(reference). A human completes the payment in the browser — an
agent can ask for a top-up but never charges a card by itself.

Billing lifecycle
Trials, upgrades, downgrades, cancellation and what each one does to your Ink — the rule is that Ink follows money, immediately on an upgrade and at renewal on a downgrade.
